Medical Marijuana is not legal yet in South Carolina, but we are optimistic that it will be legalized in 2023. Lawmakers are also optimistic that the Senate bill will pass soon, legalizing medical marijuana for patients with qualifying conditions and establishing a dispensary model for distribution. Lawmakers believe there is a good chance this bill is passed and implemented this upcoming session!

How to Qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card in South Carolina

To qualify for medical marijuana treatment in South Carolina, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be diagnosed with one of the qualifying conditions eligible for medical marijuana treatment

  • Have a written certification recommendation from a registered South Carolina physician. That's where we come in!

How to Get Approved for a South Carolina Medical Marijuana Card ​

What Information and Forms Are Required for a Medical Marijuana Card?

We can assume that the following will be required when submitting an application to the South Carolina Department of Health:

  • Your application form

  • Your completed Physician Written Certification 

  • Your current South Carolina-issued driver's license or state ID (Please be aware that your name and address on your application form must match what is listed on your South Carolina driver's license or ID)

  • A non-refundable state application fee
